The Closet

A Resource for Families In Need In Our District

For some kids, feeling like a star means blending in, not standing out. A sporty White Bear themed sweatshirt or pair of new leggings can go a long way in helping a needy student feel confident - like they fit in.

The Closet first formed in 2011 by former Board President Kim Schoonover, after seeing an increase of requests for clothing, including boots, coats, hats, and mittens. The Closet is a dedicated space in the district, housed in the ALC (Adult Learning Center - 2449 Orchard Lane, White Bear Lake) where families in need can come in and browse through clothing, coats, shoes etc (anything that can be worn head to toe) for their students.

When students in our school district present a need for clothing, they are able to shop for items needed, free of charge. Students and families are referred to The Closet by school administration staff and an personal appointment is scheduled for the family or student to visit.

Our greatest need is for new to gently used items, children's sizes 6-12. New socks and undergarments are always welcome. To schedule a donation, please contact our staff office at 651-407-7696 or by EMAIL.
