Dan joined the board in 2016 and is a 1983 WB High School Alum. A career creative and design professional, clients include Target, Marshall Field’s and 3M to name a few. Dan is creator and co-owner of clothing brands Farm Boy® & Farm Girl® and is an active member of the Masonic Lodge of WBL. Dan and Brian, his partner of 24 years, reside in Mahtomedi.
Greg joined the board in 2015 and is a 1981 WB High School Alum. Greg has always been an entrepreneur and started his first company as a freshman at the University of Minnesota in 1981. He currently is co-owner of Grand Strategies Consulting and was the 2015 recipient of the Hill Legacy Award. Greg resides in White Bear Lake with his wife Sandy. They have three children in the district, one of which is a recent graduate. Greg is an avid snow skier and enjoys most outdoor activities.
Carrie joined the board in 2017 and has over 20 years of experience in higher education. She currently works as the Senior Partnership Manager at College Possible and is a Qualified Administrator and facilitator with the Intercultural Development Inventory. She and her husband Pete reside in White Bear Township and have two children in the district.
Eunice joined the board in 2011 and is a 1973 WB High School Alum. Eunice made her career in Finance, Banking and Product Management and has worked for US Bank, Wells Fargo, and Metris. She and her husband Pete have lived in White Bear since 1988. Eunice has served as a former co-chair and committee member of the golf fund raiser for many years.
Connie joined the board in 2007 and has served previously as Secretary and VP of Programs for a number of years. Connie is a retired elementary school teacher who worked in the district for many years at Vadnais Heights Elementary.
Paul joined the board in 2014 and is co-owner of Hallberg Engineering, Inc. located in White Bear Lake. Paul and his wife Nicole reside in White Bear Township and have two children in the district. Paul co-chairs our annual golf event fundraiser.
Bill joined the board in 2014. Bill is an attorney representing businesses and individuals in the Twin Cities in a variety of legal matters. Bill and his wife Jess reside in White Bear Lake and have three children in the district.
Rick joined the board in 2017 and is the Assistant City Manager for the City of White Bear Lake. He and his wife Rachel have two children. Outside of work they enjoy spending time together as a family in the outdoors.

Mary Cleary Kowitz
Mary joined the board in 2017 and is a 1968 WB High School Alum. She has lived in White Bear since 1953. Mary worked for the school district for 44 years before retiring in 2013. Mary is a member of the White Bear Lake Lions Club and owns Designs By Mary, a floral and wedding consulting business.
MaryEllen joined the board in 2015 and is a retired elementary teacher who taught in the district for 34 years, primarily at Lincoln Elementary. MaryEllen was the Enrichment Coordinator and PTA Liaison at her school while serving on numerous building and district level committees. She was honored and humbled to receive the Lynn Mielke Distinguished Educator Award in 2010. MaryEllen enjoys and values the opportunity to work with the dedicated members of the WBLAEF and the WBL community.
Jenny joined the board in 2006 and is a 1983 WB High School Alum. She and her husband Kile (1980 Alum) reside in White Bear Township. They have four grown children (all WBLAS graduates) and seven granddaughters that also live in the district. Spending time with family is her greatest joy, but she also enjoys cabin life and is passionate about the WBL community and the Foundation.
Kathy joined the board in 2017. Kathy is life-long resident of White Bear Lake and is a 1973 WB High School Alum. Kathy has a passion and love for the area. She worked for the District for 34 years as an administrative assistant and currently works with her husband Darrell at Hanson-Stone Retirement Strategies. Kathy and Darrell have two grown children and seven grandchildren to keep them busy. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising at the YMCA, church activities and travel. She also volunteers her time with HealthPartners Hospice program.
Scott joined the board in 2015 and is a 1971 WB High School Alum. After a 20-year hiatus from the White Bear area for a military career, Scott and his family returned and was elected to the White Bear Lake Area School Board and serves as the school board's liaison to our Foundation Board. Scott's educational passion is to provide a genuine "level playing field" for all district students and to provide the resources for all students to pursue their educational dreams.
